The Village Bread Story
I started baking bread for my family in my kitchen at home. It is one of the ways I nourish and sustain them and show them love. I wanted the ones I love to have fresh, healthy bread and I fell in love with the alchemy and Zen of bread-making. Friends and neighbors also liked it when I made them bread, and several began asking to buy my bread. Many on a regular basis. I had no idea what to charge or how to think about going about this endeavor. In the meantime, it has always been important to me to do good in the world wherever and whenever I can. So I combined my desire to add goodness to the world with friends’ need for delicious, healthy, fresh-baked bread. And that was how share the loaf was born. For every loaf of bread I sell, I make an extra one. That extra one goes to those in need.

VILLAGE BREAD PHILOSOPHY
We live in a busy world. I believe that every person has an innate desire to do good, put goodness out there and share that goodness with others. I know though, that not everyone has the time to make this happen. By creating the "buy one, give one" program, I offer people the opportunity to help others in need without adding pressure to their busy lives. And if self-nurturing through delicious bread is an added bonus, why not?!
